Description
Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone shortened to seven residues and closed by a lactam bridge, giving a cyclic and more conformationally constrained structure than the linear MT-1 analogue. It is used in vitro in broad melanocortin-receptor research, where its reduced receptor selectivity relative to MT-1 is itself a subject of study, and is supplied lyophilised at 10 mg.
